Greek Glendi: St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 7671 N. Lockwood Ridge Road, East Manatee

The 30th annual festival Greek Glendi is 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Feb. 8 and noon-8 p.m. Feb. 9. Among the attractions are lots of Greek food (you can count on gyros, souvlaki, moussaka, baklava and some more obscure Greek delights), a market with jewelry and craft items, Greek folk dancing from the church's Hellenic Dancers, kids activities and church tours. Florida State Fair: Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa

The 2014 Florida State Fair runs through Feb. 17 featuring unique exhibits such as a technology showcase, Florida Cattlemen's Ranching Museum, Florida's Learning Garden, and Florida agriculture, outdoor music series and performances by local, regional, national and international artists at various stages around the venue, NOCKAIR FMX Flying Motorcycle Extreme Show and multiple exiting rides, animal exhibits and shows, live stock events and much more. Village of the Arts art walk: Village of the Arts, 1113 12th St. W., Bradenton

"Sweethearts Stroll" is the theme for this month's art walk through Bradenton's acclaimed artist colony. The event is 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 8 and will feature Valentine treats and surprises, and food and art on display at the more than 25 galleries. Information:

Anna Maria Island Art and Craft Festival: Holmes Beach City Hall Field, 5801 Marina Drive, Holmes Beach

The Anna Maria Island Art and Craft Festival will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 8 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 9, featuring an array of fine arts and crafts and live music by Patchouli. Manatee Technical Institute Car Show: 6305 S.R. 70 E., Bradenton

Manatee Technical Institute Automotive Service Technology and Auto Collision and Repair students and faculty will team up with local businesses to host the second annual car show 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 9. Cars, trucks and motorcycles of all years, makes, and models will be on display and will compete for best antique, classic, paint job, engine, stereo system, and muddiest truck awards. Adults will compete for prizes in a contest who can eat 20 Hershey Kisses the fastest and kids, ages 12 and younger will race to eat a free Mixon Orange Swirl ice cream the fastest. Bradentucky Bombers 2014 Season and Schedule: Astro Skate of Bradenton, 3611 Third St. W., Bradenton

The Bradentucky Bombers, Manatee County's original flat track women's roller derby team 2014 season schedule is as follows: Feb. 9, March 2, April 13, May 18, June 8, July 13, July 27, Aug. 3, Sept. 14, Oct. 12, with game itineraries: 6 p.m. tailgating, 6:30 p.m. doors open, 7 p.m. game begins, 9:15 p.m. afterparty at Lost Kangaroo Pub, 406 12th St. W., Bradenton. For the games it is suggested you bring a chair. Track side seating is available on a first come, first served basis for those ages 18 and older. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
