Man charged with burglary at Social Security building in Bradenton

BRADENTON -- An independent contractor with access to the Social Security building in Bradenton has been charged with breaking into an office on the building's second flood and stealing several computers.

Sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, some broke into Amerilife and Health Services at Sarabay, on the second floor of the Social Security building at 5540 State Road 64 E., Bradenton, according to Bradenton police.

There were no signs of forced entry.

Lee E. Sybert, 32, has been arrested in the case, police said.

"Mr. Sybert was an independent contractor with access to the common areas of the second floor," police said in a report. "Mr. Sybert was having money issues and pawned his company owned iPad on 02-04-2014 to pay an electric bill."

Police said Sybert admitted during an interview that he had committed the burglary. Several laptop computers were recovered, police said.

Sybert faces charges of burglary, grand theft and dealing in stolen property.
