Recap: Illinois vs. Wisconsin

Champaign, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Sam Dekker and Ben Brust each tallied 16 points as the Wisconsin Badgers rolled to a 75-63 victory over the Illinois Fighting Illini in a Big Ten Conference tilt at State Farm Center.

Traevon Jackson netted 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds for Wisconsin (18-5, 5-5 Big Ten), which ends a two-game losing streak. Nigel Hayes also chipped in 14 points in the winning effort.

Rayvonte Rice led all scorers in the contest with 24 points for Illinois (13-10, 2-8), adding nine rebounds to his stat line. Joseph Bertrand chipped in 11 points and Nnanna Egwu added 10 in the loss. The Illini have lost eight consecutive games.

Wisconsin shot 47.8 percent from the floor in the first half, including 4- of-11 from 3-point range, and took a 36-30 lead into the midway break. Illinois wasn't too far behind Wisconsin's total, shooting 44 percent in the frame.

The Badgers maintained a steady pace out of the intermission, once again connecting on 47.8 percent of their field goal tries in the second half. The Illini dropped their shooting percentage to 37 in the period.

Wisconsin had the edge in bench points, 19-5, and outscored Illinois from 3- point range, 30-12. The Illini had the advantage in points in the paint, 30-18.
