Mop-wielding woman charged with walloping Manatee County man

MANATEE — A 40-year-old man reportedly told authorities he was cut by a mop-wielding woman in a domestic violence-related incident.

The man and woman first argued verbally at 12:43 p.m. Monday in an apartment in the 4500 block of 67th Street W., according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.

The argument reportedly escalated to where the woman began slapping and pushing the man. The suspect reportedly grabbed a mop and began to strike the victim cutting him on his left ring finger. The wound bled profusely and required emergency treatment.

The victim reportedly sustained a small cut on the back of his head and bruises on the left side of his rib cage.

The suspect was arrested and taken to the Manatee County jail, according to the report.
