UNIVERSITY PARK -- Brooks Brothers, America's oldest clothing retailer, is coming to the new Mall at University Town Center, and has started the hiring process.

The country club and business casual clothing store posted a position for a store manager for the Mall at UTC location, officially signaling the store will be coming to the $315 million mall set to open Oct. 16 on the corner of University Parkway and Cattleman Road.

Brooks Brothers has a Country Club format retail location on Main Street in Sarasota that sells performance wear and an outlet at Ellenton Premium Outlets. The mall location will be the company's standard full-line retail store, according to the store's website.

The company has not discussed closing the Sarasota location, according to a manager not authorized to talk to the press. A Brooks Brothers spokesman declined comment about the Sarasota store and the new location.

Michigan-based Taubman is leasing space in the mall, a project in partnership with University Park's Benderson Development Co. It will feature more than 100 stores, with about half new to the market.

So far, American Eagle Outfitters, Oil and Vinegar, Brio Tuscan Grill, Capital Grille, Cheesecake Factory, Kona Grill, Seasons 52 and Smoothie King have confirmed they will be coming to the mall.
