Gun-toting residents no reason to feel comfortable

February 3, 2014

Thanks for publishing Mike McLeod's Jan. 28 letter in which he tells us of his satisfying experience at a Dunkin Donuts in New Mexico where "half the people in there were openly carrying a gun. So I felt comfortable with mine."

The statistics he quotes on guns and gun control are somewhat dubious, but that is less important than Mr. McLeod's comfort. Perhaps he should move to New Mexico, where his comfort would be assured by a gun-toting population?

If all of his like-minded friends joined him in a mass migration, I would feel more comfortable right here in Florida. Go for it, Mike!
