San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Sam Dower Jr. netted 24 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Gonzaga Bulldogs ran to a 75-65 victory over the San Francisco Dons in West Coast Conference action at Memorial Gymnasium.
Gary Bell Jr. tallied 13 points and Przemek Karnowski chipped in 12 and eight rebounds for Gonzaga (20-3, 10-1 WCC). The Bulldogs have now won six consecutive games.
Avry Holmes netted 18 points to lead San Francisco (14-9, 7-4), and Mark Tollefsen contributed 15 points and seven rebounds in the loss. Matt Glover tallied eight points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Dons, who snapped a three-game win streak with the loss.
Gonzaga shot 41.4 percent from the floor in the first half, including just 1- of-11 from 3-point distance, and took a slim 32-28 lead into the break. San Francisco shot just 31 percent from the floor in the period.
Gonzaga's second half wasn't pretty, as the Bulldogs connected on just 35 percent of their shots, but went 27-of-32 from the free-throw line in the frame. The Dons netted 37.9 percent of their shots in the half, and went 3- of-12 from 3-point range.
Gonzaga held the edge in points off turnovers, 16-9, and from the free-throw line, 34-17.
