Man attacked, choked, robbed of prescriptions, Bradenton police say

BRADENTON -- A man was attacked from behind, choked and had several prescription medications stolen from him Saturday morning, police said.

The victim was walking in the 1000 block of 14th Avenue West around 10:46 a.m. when he stopped to talk to several people, according to a Bradenton police report.

The man was then approached from behind, choked and brought to the ground, the report states. Several prescriptions were taken from him, and at some point he was struck on the side of his head, police said.

A suspect was later found, identified by the victim and placed under arrest, authorities said. The suspect was not immediately identified by police.
