Recap: Davidson vs. Citadel

Davidson, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - De'Mon Brooks netted 23 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the floor as the Davidson Wildcats powered past The Citadel Bulldogs for a 62-43 victory in a Southern Conference bout at Belk Arena.

Brooks also pulled down eight rebounds and blocked three shots for the Wildcats (12-11, 8-1 SoCon) as they picked up their fifth win in a row. Tom Droney handed out seven assists and Jake Belford provided a spark off the bench with 11 points in 19 minutes.

Brian White led The Citadel (4-20, 0-9) with 10 points.

Although they did not attempt a free-throw and missed all four of their shots from 3-point range in the first half, the Bulldogs went into the intermission trailing by just four points at 24-20. Davidson was limited to 39.1 percent efficiency from the floor in the opening 20 minutes of the contest.

The Wildcats heated up to knock down 60.9 percent of their field goal attempts including a 6-of-10 clip from beyond the arc in the second period. The Citadel could not keep up as they shot 43.5 percent from the floor after the break.

Davidson finished the game with a 31-21 edge in total rebounds.
