HERALD STAFF REPORTJanuary 30, 2014

About 218,000 Medicare beneficiaries throughout the state of Florida, including 6,100 in the Manatee-Sarasota area, have a new option for accessing health care services. As of Jan. 1, people enrolled in United Healthcare's AARP Medicare Complete, Dual Complete and group retiree Medicare Advantage plans can access care on an in-network basis at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. UnitedHealthcare members who have questions about how this change affects them should call the number on their member ID card.
