Knoxville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan McRae led the way with 26 points on 6-of-7 from 3-point range, as the Tennessee Volunteers defeated the Ole Miss Rebels, 86-70. in an SEC clash at Thompson-Boling Arena.
For the Vols (13-7, 4-3 SEC), Jeronne Maymon and Josh Richardson each added 16 points, Jarnell Stokes posted a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds and Darius Thompson dished out seven assists.
Marshall Henderson led the Rebels (14-5, 5-1) with 26 points on 8-of-19 from beyond the arc, while Jarvis Summers finished with 16 points, as Ole Miss saw its four-game winning streak come to an end.
Tennessee was hot from the floor to start the contest, connecting on 50 percent of its field goal tries, including 5-of-11 from beyond the arc, as it took a 41-29 lead at the break. It held Ole Miss to just 34.3 percent shooting, though the Rebels did hit on 4-of-12 from 3-point range in the half.
After halftime, the Rebels improved their shooting to 50 percent, including 6- of-16 from 3-point distance. The Vols continued to make their shots, hitting on 48.5 percent from the field and 6-of-9 from deep. The Vols never trailed in the contest, pushing their lead to as many as 20 in the second half as they cruised to victory.
The Vols dominated the glass, outrebounding Ole Miss, 45-27. Tennessee also outscored Ole Miss in the paint, 36-24.
