2 women arrested after burglary in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Two women have been arrested and charged with breaking into a Bradenton home Tuesday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 3 p.m., a resident of a home in the 5800 block of 13th Street East, to find two women in his home. As he entered through the front door, the women, who had loaded food into a stroller, ran out the back, according to a news release.

The victim chased the suspects, and was able to detain one of them, Kathi Albritton, as she tried to jump a fence, until deputies arrived, according to the report.

During the investigation, deputies learned the name of a second suspect, Erin Baukus. She was arrested Wednesday at a "dope house" in the 5700 block of 11th Street East, the sheriff's office said.

Baukus admitted that she and Albritton had broken into the home, according to the report.

A neighbor told deputies they had seen Baukus knocking on the residence's door before the break-in. Also, she was later seen knocking on the front door of a residence in the 5800 block of 13th Court East before a second burglary there, the sheriff's office said.

Albritton faces charges of armed burglary, drug possession, use or possession of drug paraphernalia and battery. She is being held at the Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $22,500 bond.

Booking information for Baukus was not available on the jail website.
