Weather alert: Bradenton under 'dense fog advisory' until 9 a.m.

January 28, 2014

MANATEE -- Bradenton and all of the Tampa Bay region remain under a dense fog advisory until 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

"A warm moist layer of air at the surface is resulting in widespread dense fog, with many locations reporting visibilities of one-quarter mile or less," the Weather Service said. "Visibilities are likely to vary greatly through the morning commute over very short distances, making travel difficult."

The Weather Service advised motorists to drive with caution.

Once the fog dissipates, the Weather Service said Tuesday in Bradenton will be mostly sunny, with a high near 73.

Tuesday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 55 and a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 2 a.m.
