MANATEE -- A pizza delivery driver was robbed while delivering food at a Bradenton apartment complex late Sunday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 10 p.m., the driver was trying to deliver food to an apartment at the Gates of Bradenton, 4515 26th St. W., when he saw two men sitting on the stairs to the apartment, according to a news release.

One of the suspects asked the driver how much the pizza was. When the driver pulled out cash he uses to make change, one of the men struck the driver in the head and took the food and money out of the driver's hand, according to the report.

The suspect that hit the driver was described as a dark-skinned black man standing about 6 foot, 1 inch tall and weighing 145 to 160 pounds. He was wearing jeans and a dark-colored T-shirt.
