Recap: Davidson vs. Ga Southern

Davidson, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - De'Mon Brooks and Brian Sullivan each scored 21 points as the Davidson Wildcats pounded the Georgia Southern Eagles 82-52 in a Southern Conference bout at Belk Arena.

Jake Belford and Tom Droney each added 11 points for Davidson (10-11, 6-1 SoCon), which has won six of its last seven. Tyler Kalinoski chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds.

Jelani Hewitt netted 13 points and Tre Bussey contributed 11 for Georgia Southern (9-12, 2-4), which has lost four of its last five.

Davidson dominated in the first half, claiming a 53-25 lead at the break by shooting 63 percent from the floor, including a 6-of-9 effort from beyond the arc. Georgia Southern hit on just 32.4 percent from the field in the opening frame.

The Wildcats cooled to 39.3 percent from the floor in the second half, but it was more than enough to keep the Eagles, who had 10 field goals in the period, at bay.

Davidson owned a 30-9 scoring edge from beyond the arc and a 46-26 advantage on the glass.
