Recap: North Dakota vs. Northern Ariz

Grand Forks, ND (SportsNetwork.com) - Jamal Webb scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead North Dakota to an 84-68 victory over the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks in Big Sky Conference action at Engelstad Arena.

Aaron Anderson and Cole Stefan added 13 points each for UND (8-10, 5-3 Big Sky). Jaron Nash chipped in 12 points while Ryan Salmonson netted 10. Webb also swiped four steals and Stefan dealt out five assists.

NAU (8-11, 5-3) was led by Max Jacobsen, who tallied 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor. Quinton Upshur scored 13 points, Aaseem Dixon had 10 points and Gaellan Bewernick corralled a game-high 10 boards.

North Dakota took a 43-36 lead into the break after it connected on 58.6 percent of its field goal attempts including 8-of-12 from 3-point range in the opening 20 minutes of the game. The Lumberjacks shot an impressive 57.1 percent from the floor, but hit on only 2-of-4 tries from beyond the arc in the first period.

NAU made good on just 1-of-6 shots from behind the 3-point line in the second stanza. North Dakota drained 5-of-11 of its 3-point field goal attempts and also converted 10-of-13 tries at the free-throw line after the intermission to pull away.

Despite the loss, the Lumberjacks enjoyed a 30-27 edge in the rebounding battle. North Dakota committed only seven turnovers and forced 16, which allowed it to attempt 13 more shots from the floor than the visitors.
