I-75 drivers should watch for shoulder closures starting Sunday

January 24, 2014

— Drivers should anticipate shoulder closures along Interstate 75 from University Parkway to the I-275 interchange near mile marker 228 beginning Sunday and continuing through the week for road work. Construction workers will be installing fiber optics communications cable and transmission equipment, closed-circuit television cameras and roadside sensors along 56 miles of the interstate for the Intelligent Transportation System and Satellite Traffic Management Center. The Florida Highway Patrol advises motorists to use caution while traveling through construction zones. The project is scheduled for completion this summer.
