Man dies in mobile home fire in Bradenton

MANATEE -- A 71-year-old man died in a mobile home fire early Friday morning in Bradenton, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 5:30 a.m., authorities responded to a fire in a trailer in the Pescara Lake Mobile Park, in the 500 block of 57th Avenue West, according to a news release.

Firefighters with Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue were able to put out the fire and found the man deceased inside. The victim's 74-year-old roommate was able to escape the fire unharmed, according to the sheriff's office.

The victim's name was not released, pending notification of family.

The cause of the fire is still unknown but appears to be accidental, the sheriff's office said.
