Gov. Scott Jan. 30 itinerary targets Manatee events

LAKEWOOD RANCH -- Two local events slated Jan. 30 will honor Gov. Rick Scott.

One is a 5 p.m. fundraiser at Gold Coast Eagle Distributors, 7051 Wireless Court, Sarasota, according to an invitation sent to county commissioners from the Gulf Coast Builders Exchange. Suggested amount to attend is $500, but any amount will be accepted, organizers said.

The Republican governor will also be keynote speaker at the builders' exchange annual dinner and officer installation.

The dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a networking session, while the program starts at 7 p.m. at the Polo Grill, 10670 Boardwalk Loop, Lakewood Ranch. Dinner tickets cost $100.
