USAFA, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Larry Nance Jr. scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Wyoming Cowboys beat the Air Force Falcons, 66-59, in Mountain West Conference play at Clune Arena.
Josh Adams chipped in 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the floor for Wyoming (12-6, 3-2 MW). Nathan Sobey added 10 points in the win. The Cowboys have won three consecutive games.
Kamryn Williams scored 17 points to pace Air Force (9-9, 3-4), adding six rebounds in the losing effort. Tre' Coggins contributed 15 points, and Justin Hammonds added 13 points and seven rebounds for the Falcons, who have lost four of their last five games.
Wyoming shot 40.9 percent in the first half, but only connected on one of its seven 3-point tries. Air Force shot 50 percent from the floor in the first frame and took a 35-28 lead into halftime.
The tide changed in the second half, as the Cowboys connected on 61.1 percent of their shots from the field, and made all 14 free-throw attempts in the process. The Falcons shot just 39.1 percent in the second period, and only attempted three free throws. The Cowboys outscored the Falcons, 38024, in the half.
Wyoming had the edge from the free-throw line, 23-8, and forced 16 Air Force turnovers while only committing nine. The Cowboys had the advantage in points off turnovers, 22-6.
