Recap: Vanderbilt vs. Ole Miss

Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarvis Summers scored 16 points and recorded four steals as the Ole Miss Rebels beat the Vanderbilt Commodores, 63-52, in Southeast Conference action at Memorial Gym.

Anthony Perez came off the bench to score 13 points, and LaDarius White and Marshall Henderson each chipped in 11 for Ole Miss (13-5, 4-1 SEC). The Rebels have won three games in a row.

Rod Odom scored a game-high 18 points for Vanderbilt (9-8, 1-4). Damian Jones contributed 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the double-double, and James Siakam pulled down 10 boards. The Commodores have lost four of their last five matchups.

Neither team started the game shooting very well, as Ole Miss took a 29-20 halftime lead on 35.1 percent shooting from the floor in the first half. The Rebels went 3-of-11 from 3-point distance and didn't attempt a single free throw in the frame. It was worse for Vanderbilt, as the Commodores connected on just 29.2 percent of their shots.

The Rebels only slightly improved in the second half, hitting 37.5 percent of their shots from the field. Vanderbilt shot 44.8 percent in the period, but went a dismal 1-of-11 from beyond the 3-point arc.

Ole Miss doubled up Vanderbilt in 3-point makes, 6-3, and had the edge in points in the paint, 30-24. The Rebels forced 17 Commodores turnovers that resulted directly in 16 points.
