Recap: Tennessee vs. Arkansas

Knoxville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan McCrae poured in 34 points to propel the Tennessee Volunteers to an 81-74 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks in a Southeastern Conference battle at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Jeronne Maymon added 17 points and came up just one rebound shy of a double- double for Tennessee (12-6, 3-2 SEC). Josh Richardson netted 10 points to help the Volunteers earn their second win in three outings.

Coty Clarke paced the Razorbacks (12-6, 1-4) with 16 points and nine boards. Rashad Madden chipped in 15 points and eight rebounds while Fred Gulley went 5-of-5 from the field to tally 11 points. Kikko Haydar came off the bench to score 10 points.

Arkansas hit on 45.5 percent of its shots from the floor including 4-of-9 from 3-point range in the first half. The Volunteers hit on only 40.7 percent of their field goal attempts, but still took a narrow, 39-37 lead into the intermission thanks to their 15-of-17 clip at the free-throw line in the first half.

The Razorbacks were limited to 40.6 percent shooting from the floor in the second stanza. Tennessee converted 15-of-21 tries at the charity stripe after halftime to pull away for the seven-point decision.

The Volunteers enjoyed a 42-37 edge in the rebounding battle and blocked a total of 10 shots.
