Faces in business: Dennis Zink

January 22, 2014

Dennis Zink

Title: Vice chairman/chairman elect

Company: SCORE

What was the best business advice you ever received?

Not to run out of cash. Cash is the life blood of a business.

If you could choose another profession, what would it be?

Professional tennis player or radio announcer. The latter one because I recently started an episodic business podcast series which I host for SCORE called "Been There, Done That" on iTunes and Stitcher Radio. SCORE is going to use it nationally for all 352 SCORE offices. I love interviewing our weekly guests.

What's the biggest risk you have taken in your career?

I charged my credit card to start a business and it worked. And I also sold my car in order to make payroll. Then, I had to lease a car... my employees promptly asked me for a raise.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you start?

Egypt, fascinating country. But I love the food in Italy and France.
