January 21, 2014

MANATEE — A 44-year-old Bradenton man was in Manatee County jail Tuesday night on a charge of false imprisonment and strangulation after a Tuesday morning incident, according to Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies found the victim at 3:36 a.m. Tuesday while she was sitting in the 7-Eleven parking lot at 2011 Cortez Road, wearing only a bathrobe, according to a sheriff’s office arrest report.

She told deputies she and her boyfriend Dean Daniel Andree had been drinking at their residence in the 1700 block of 38th Avenue West when a verbal altercation escalated to physical violence.

The victim’s black-and-blue eye was swollen shut and she had bruises across her body, the report states.

She did not have any marks on her neck, although she told deputies she was choked to the point of nearly blacking out, according to the report.

The victim told deputies she was beaten for four hours, during which time she tried to leave but was followed outside and dragged back inside.

All injuries were photographed.

Andree was arrested at the couple’s home without incident, the report states.

He was being held on $15,000 bond at the Manatee County jail.
