Man accidentally shot during scuffle with son in Bradenton

MANATEE -- A 46-year-old man was shot accidentally Tuesday in Bradenton during a scuffle with his son, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

No one has been charged in the shooting, which happened about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, in the 3100 block of 69th Street East, according to a news release.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim and his 22-year-old son were in an argument, when the younger man picked up a handgun and a scuffle ensued, the sheriff's office said.

The gun discharged and the older man was shot, according to the report. The report did not list the victim's condition.
