Weather alert: Cold front to drop temperatures in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Morning fog in Bradenton and the rest of Tampa Bay was expected to make way for a cold front later on Tuesday.

Once area of fog, some of it locally dense, dissipates Tuesday morning, a cold front will begin moving through the area Tuesday afternonn and evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast for Bradenton calls for a high of 71, with a 30 percent chance of rain. Tuesday's expected low is 46.

On Wednesday, the high will be only 56, albeit with sunny skies. Strong north-northwesterly winds will make it feel colder. Wednesday night, temperatures could drop to about 39.

For the rest of the week, the Weather Service was calling for highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s and lows in upper 30s to mid-40s.
