Muggers cut, rob man in Bradenton

January 21, 2014

MANATEE -- A man was injured during a mugging in Bradenton early Tuesday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 12:50 a.m., the victim was walking in the 1100 block of 57th Avenue East when an older model pick-up truck stopped near him, according to a news release.

Two men, dressed in all black, got out of the truck, possibly a Toyota or a Nissan. One used a knife to cut him on the forehead and the other searched his pockets, taking an undetermined amount of cash, the sheriff's office said.

The men got back into the truck and fled the area.

Two good Samaritans took the victim to Manatee Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released, according to the sheriff's office.
