Manatee County Utilities issues boil water notice

January 19, 2014

MANATEE — The Manatee County Utilities Department issued a precautionary boil water notice Sunday for customers on 44th Avenue East from DeSoto Square Mall to 15th Street East.

Repair main break is scheduled for midnight until 9 a.m. Monday. Customers are advised all water for drinking or cooking should be boiled as a precaution after service is restored. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.

This precautionary notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey has shown the water to be safe, normally 24 to 48 hours. A notice will be issued when warning is lifted. Information: 941-792-8811, ext 5268.
