Recap: Montana State vs. North Dakota

Bozeman, MT (SportsNetwork.com) - Aaron Anderson netted 18 points as the University of North Dakota narrowly edged out the Montana State Bobcats, 72-69, in Big Sky Conference action at Worthington Arena.

Troy Huff contributed 13 points and nine rebounds for North Dakota (6-10, 3-3 Big Sky). Two Anderson free throws put North Dakota up 72-69 with nine seconds to play. Montana State missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer that represented the tying score. The win snaps a two-game UND losing skid.

Flavien Davis led all scorers in the game with 25 points for Montana State (9-8, 4-2). Paul Egwuonwu chipped in 14 points and grabbed three rebounds in the loss. The Bobcats have lost two of their last three games.

North Dakota hit 51.7 percent of its shots in the first half, including 4- of-11 from 3-point range, and took a 42-38 lead into the half. Montana State connected on 48 percent of its shots in the first stanza.

UND saw its shooting percentage drop to 36.4 percent in the second half, including 3-of-14 from distance. The Bobcats improved to 54.6 percent from the floor in the second frame, and outscored UND in the half, 31-30, which wasn't enough to complete the comeback.

North Dakota held the edge in bench points, 29-12, and the advantage in rebounds, 33-26.
