Recap: LSU vs. Vanderbilt

Baton Rouge, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Johnny O'Bryant III posted a double- double with 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the LSU Tigers over the Vanderbilt Commodores, 81-58, in an SEC showdown at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

For the Tigers (11-5, 2-2 SEC), Jordan Mickey added 13 points, Jarell Martin finished with 11 points and Andre Stringer chipped in with 10.

Rod Odom led the Commodores (9-7, 1-3) with 20 points, while Damian Jones scored 16 and Dai-Jon Parker tallied 10 points.

LSU shot 38.7 percent from the field in the first half, including 4-of-11 from 3-point range, as the Tigers took a 35-25 lead into the break. Vanderbilt also struggled from the floor, hitting on just 34.8 percent from the field and 2- of-9 from beyond the arc.

After intermission, the Tigers heated up from the floor, connecting on 58.6 percent of their field goal tries while holding the Commodores to only 36.7 percent from the field. The Commodores got as close as nine, but the Tigers were able to run their lead back to double-figures, going ahead by as many as 23, as they coasted to victory.

LSU dominated under the basket, outscoring Vanderbilt in the paint, 40-24, and outrebounding them 48-24. The Tigers also scored 24 second chance points off of 21 offensive rebounds.
