Police: Scrap metal stolen from Bradenton business by neighbor

BRADENTON -- Scrap metal stolen from an auto repair shop was recovered and returned to the business thanks to quick work by the Bradenton Police Department on Saturday afternoon.

Employees arriving at the shop sometime around 11:44 a.m. at 1400 9th St. W. discovered the business had been burglarized with tools and scrap metal items had been stolen, according to a police report.

Evidence at the scene led officers to a neighbor's house, the report states. An officer made contact with the suspects and located the stolen property, the report states.

The victim signed a waiver after all property was returned to him, police said.

Information about the suspects was not immediately available.
