Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Freshman Manu Lecomte scored a career-high 16 points and the Miami Hurricanes used a smothering defensive effort to defeat Georgia Tech, 56-42, in an Atlantic Coast Conference tussle at McCamish Pavilion.

Donnavan Kirk chipped in with 14 points and seven rebounds for the Hurricanes (10-7, 2-3 ACC), who improved to 5-2 in road games this season. Rion Brown added 12 points and six boards in the win.

Trae Golden led the Yellow Jackets (10-8, 1-4) with 12 points, albeit on just 3-of-12 shooting from the floor. Marcus Georges-Hunt rounded out the double- digit scorers with 10 points to go along with six rebounds.

Georgia Tech made only five first-half field goals (.263) and trailed by a 27-17 margin at the half.

The Yellow Jackets' poor shooting continued into the second half as they went on to miss 27 of their first 35 shots from the floor. For the game, Tech made only 13 field goals and shot a dismal 29.5 percent.

The Yellow Jackets were without the services of Robert Carter, Jr. (left knee surgery) and Solomon Poole (migraines), as they dressed only eight players.
