Braves reach deals with Medlen, Minor, Johnson

Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Braves have agreed to terms with pitchers Kris Medlen and Mike Minor, infielder Chris Johnson and outfielder Jordan Schafer on one-year contracts, avoiding arbitration.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Medlen will make $5.8 million, Minor $3.85 million, Johnson $4.75 million and Schafer $1.09 million this upcoming season.

Medlen went 15-12 with a 3.11 ERA in 32 games with the Braves in 2013.

Minor went 13-9 with a 3.21 ERA in 32 starts with Atlanta last season.

Johnson had 34 doubles, 12 homers and 68 RBI in 142 games with the Braves last year. He finished second in the National League with a .321 batting average.

Schafer hit .247 with three triples, three homers, 21 RBI and 22 stolen bases in 94 games with Atlanta last year.
