Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Phillies agreed to a one-year contract with outfielder John Mayberry Jr. on Friday, thus avoiding arbitration.

Mayberry batted .273 with 15 home runs and 49 RBI during his first full season in the majors in 2011, but the former first-round pick has seen his numbers decrease in each of the last two seasons.

The 30-year-old Mayberry batted .227 with 11 home runs and 39 RBI over 134 games for the Phillies last season.
