Ann Arbor, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Nik Stauskas dropped in 21 points to carry the Michigan Wolverines to an 80-67 victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions in a Big Ten matchup at the Crisler Center.
Derrick Walton Jr. added 16 points and Glenn Robinson III had 15 for Michigan (12-4, 4-0 Big Ten), which has won six straight. Jon Horford chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
D.J. Newbill and Tim Frazier each scored 17 points for Penn State (9-9, 0-5), which has lost five straight. Donovon Jack tacked on 12 points.
Michigan led 40-33 at halftime after shooting an even 50 percent from the floor, including a 6-of-14 effort from beyond the arc, in the first half. Penn State remained within striking distance by connecting on 52.2 percent from the field.
After the intermission the Wolverines shot at a 58.3 percent clip, which allowed them to separate further from the Nittany Lions, who cooled to 46.7 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes.
Michigan had 18 assists to only eight for Penn State. The Nittany Lions outscored their hosts in the paint, 34-28.
