Police: Men held woman inside Bradenton home, burglarized car

HERALD STAFF REPORTJanuary 11, 2014

— Authorities are searching for a group of men accused of barring a woman from leaving her residence while one of them ransacked her vehicle Friday night.

The victim heard a noise outside her residence in the 1000 block of 12th Street West around 9:04 p.m., according to a Bradenton Police report.

When she looked outside, she saw a man going through her vehicle, the report states. When she tried to leave her residence, two other suspects were holding the door.

"The victim struggled and was able to finally force the door open," the report states. When she did, all three suspects fled north on 12th Street West.

A K-9 unit responded but could not track the suspects.

The victim recognized one of the suspects and was able to identify him, according to police. When authorities checked that suspect's residence, he wasn't there, they said.

Police were completing a warrant for false imprisonment and burglary.
