Buchanan to talk jobs in Holmes Beach

HOLMES BEACH -- U.S. Rep Vern Buchanan will hold a listening session on jobs, the economy and spending in Holmes Beach on Saturday.

Buchanan's listening session will be held at 11 a.m. at Holmes Beach City Hall Chambers, 5801 Marina Drive, Holmes Beach.

Manatee Democratic women to meet Tuesday

The Manatee Democratic Women's Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Renaissance on 9th, 1816 9th St. W., for its monthly meeting.

The meeting will include a fashion show and silent auction to support the group's scholarship foundation.

Manatee Republican women to meet Jan. 28

The Manatee Forum, Republican Women Federated will meet Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Pier 22 for a 6 p.m. social and a 6:30 p.m. dinner.

The guest speaker will be Troy Pumphrey, an investigator in the Manatee County School Board's office of professional standards. Pumphrey will share his experiences and his duties in his new position.
