Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Vanderbilt guard Eric McClellan has been kicked off the team.

McClellan, a redshirt sophomore who was leading the team in scoring, had been suspended Wednesday for the spring semester for violating academic policy.

But Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings said Friday McClellan would not be a part of the program in the future "based upon newly discovered information that came to light Wednesday evening," the school announced in a release.

McClellan, who transferred to Vanderbilt from Tulsa, was averaging 14.3 points in 12 games this season.

No other information was provided by the school.
