January 10, 2014

BRADENTON -- A patient may have stolen a wallet, cell phone and car belonging to a nurse at Manatee Memorial Hospital early Friday, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

About 1:45 a.m., a triage nurse discovered that her items, including the keys to her car, were missing from her bag that had been secured in a nurses' station in the emergency room, according to a report.

The victim contacted her bank and learned her credit card was being used at a Walmart Supercenter on State Road 70.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office responded and obtained video of the suspect. The victim identified the suspect as a patient that was treated earlier in the evening, police said.

"During the investigation, the victim discovered that her vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot," the police report states.
