Recap: North Dakota vs. Idaho State

Grand Forks, ND (SportsNetwork.com) - Jaron Nash scored 21 points on 10-of-16 shooting as North Dakota narrowly defeated the Idaho State Bengals, 66-62, in a Big Sky tilt at the Sioux Center.

Troy Huff scored 12 points and brought down nine rebounds for North Dakota (5-8, 2-1 Big Sky). Josh Schuler scored 10 points while Jamal Webb had five assists.

Chris Hansen scored 24 points for the Bengals (5-7, 2-1). Andre Hatchett added 11 points and had nine boards while Jeffrey Solarin scored 10 points.

North Dakota shot 45.2 percent from the field, including 2-of-11 from behind the 3-point line in the first period. The home team had a 33-27 lead at the half. The Bengals made 44.4 percent of their field goal attempts, including 4- of-7 from 3-point range. Idaho State turned the ball over 15 times allowing North Dakota to attempt 13 more shots.

In the second half, the home team shot 36.7 percent from the floor but managed to hold on to the lead for the entire half. The Bengals made 46.4 percent of their shots from the field, but were unable to catch North Dakota.

North Dakota dominated inside by outscoring Idaho State, 32-16, in the paint. The home team took advantage of all of the Bengals mistakes by outscoring them, 26-12, in points off turnovers.
