Recap: Fresno State vs. Air Force

Fresno, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyler Johnson scored 25 points and pulled down eight rebounds as the Fresno State Bulldogs captured a 71-65 win over the Air Force Falcons in Mountain West Conference action at the Save Mart Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the Bulldogs (8-8, 1-2 MWC), as they won for just the second time in the last seven outings, were Cezar Guerrero and Marvelle Harris with 18 and 13 points, respectively.

The Falcons (8-6, 2-1) were paced by Tre' Coggins who led four starters in double figures with his 21 points on 4-of-6 shooting behind the 3-point line. Max Yon pitched in with 20 points, Kamryn Williams 12 and Justin Hammonds 10 points as the team had a two-game win streak snapped.

Air Force shot a season-low 20.8 percent from the floor in the first half, including a mere 2-of-10 behind the 3-point line, as the Falcons went into the break trailing by double figures, 27-16. The visitors made a total of just five field goals in the period, compared to eight baskets for FSU.

In the second half both programs picked up the pace on offense as the Bulldogs connected on an impressive 61.1 percent from the floor and also converted 16- of-21 at the free-throw line in order to secure the win.

Fresno State, which held a 24-17 scoring advantage at the charity stripe, was beaten on the glass, 35-29.
