Replace unemployment benefits with government jobs program

I certainly think it necessary to support those unemployed with monthly allowances for a reasonable length of time. Perhaps those in Washington should take a lesson from the programs put in place by President Franklin Roosevelt in the 1930s. The National Recovery Act provided government programs which allowed our people to work and not live on the dole. There is a lot more at www.fdrheritage.org/newdeal.htm.
