BRADENTON -- Police are investigating a report that man was thrown out of a car in Bradenton late Tuesday.

About 11:14 p.m., officers in the 1200 block of Martin Luther King Avenue West were flagged down by a person who said they had witnessed someone being thrown from a black car, according to Bradenton police.

Officers found an injured man on the south side of the roadway, and he was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital.

The victim was unable to provide any information about what had happened, but he did admit that he had been drinking at the Old Main Pub in downtown Bradenton.

"He does not remember anything after that," police said in a report.

The victim was wanted on a 2001 warrant out of Sarasota County on drug charges. He told police he had recently returned to Bradenton after living in California for the past nine years.

After he was released from the hospital, he was taken to the Manatee County jail on the charges, police said.
