January 6, 2014

BRADENTON -- About $3,500 in merchandise was stolen from a Bradenton business during a burglary, according to Bradenton police.

About 10:49 p.m. Sunday, someone flagged down an officer and told him about a break-in at Mr. Biggz, 1800 14th St. W., according to a report.

"Investigation revealed that an unknown person broke a window and glass door to gain entry into the business," the report states. "Once inside the suspect removed approximately $3,500 worth of merchandise (hats, DVDs, clothing and jewelry)."

A subsequent investigation identified a "person of interest" and a be-on-the-lookout advisory was issued.

Evidence collected at the scene included blood, police said.
