Elderly Bradenton brother and sister found dead at home

January 5, 2014

BRADENTON — An elderly man and his sister were discovered dead in their Bradenton home Sunday, apparently from natural causes.

The discovery was made at 12:43 p.m. in the 3500 block of 32nd Avenue W., Bradenton, according to a Bradenton Police Department report.

A longtime friend of the brother and sister called the Bradenton police because she had not heard from her friends for about two weeks. When she went to check on them Sunday she smelled a foul odor coming from the house and saw flies around the windows.

Officers entered the house through an unlocked window and reportedly discovered a deceased 90-year-old male and a deceased 80-year-old femle.

Officers said the male appeared to have been dead longer than the female. There were no signs of foul play, the report states.
