Recap: Wofford vs. Davidson

Spartanburg, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - De'Mon Brooks netted 28 points on 12- of-16 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds to help lead the Davidson Wildcats to a 78-63 win over the Wofford Terriers in Southern Conference competition at Benjamin Johnson Arena.

Tom Droney scored 18 points on 6-of-7 shooting for Davidson (5-10, 1-0 SoCon). As a team, the Wildcats shot 61.2 percent from the floor in the win, snapping a five-game losing streak in the process.

Lee Skinner scored a team-high 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Wofford (6-8, 1-1). Spencer Collins contributed 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including 3-of-3 at the free-throw line. The Terriers had won three in a row before the loss.

The Wildcats shot an impressive 17-of-28 from the field in the first half (60.7 percent) and hit all three of their free throws before the midway point. Davidson went into halftime with a 37-28 lead. Wofford connected on just 39.3 percent of its shots in the first half.

Davidson's shooting accuracy only got better in the second, as the Wildcats hit 13-of-21, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range. Wofford hit 44.4 percent of its shots in the second, but went a dismal 1-of-6 from 3-point range.

Davidson outmuscled the Terriers by holding a 32-23 rebounding advantage, as well as a 36-28 points in the paint edge.
