SARASOTA -- Sarasota authorities are looking for a young male with curly hair and a red shirt who was involved in a hit and run that injured a skateboarder at 9 p.m. Friday on North Lockwood Ridge and Gocio roads in Sarasota.

The vehicle may be a white pickup truck, possibly used for pizza deliveries, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

The truck was heading north on North Lockwood Ridge Road approaching the intersection of Gocio Road.

The skateboarder was heading north on the east sidewalk of North Lockwood Ridge, approaching Gocio, and the marked cross walk indicated it was safe for him to cross, according to the report.

As the skateboarder was attempting to cross Gocio Road in the marked cross walk, the truck turned into Gocio, and its right rear side hit the pedestrian, the report states.

After hitting the pedestrian, the suspect driving the truck sped away, the report states.
