Here's a reminder about an event we hope piques the interest of everyone keen on politics and government.

Three Manatee County legislators -- Reps. Jim Boyd and Greg Steube and Sen. Bill Galvano -- plan to attend an event that we're calling a "Community Conversation."

Forged out of a partnership between the Herald and State College of Florida, the event will be the first in a series that is designed to allow greater public engagement with community leaders.

To that end, we invite the public to not only attend but to send us your questions and concerns about issues facing the state House and Senate as the Legislature prepares for the March regular session. We'll address as many of your questions as possible during the forum.

Please email those questions in advance to cwille@bradenton.com or send regular mail to Editorial Page Editor Chris Wille, 1111 Third Ave. W., Bradenton, FL 34205.

The free and open forum will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 23 at SCF's Howard Studio Theater, located in Building 11 West on the college's Bradenton campus. Details can be found at www.scf.edu/maps.

The forum will be broadcast by Manatee Educational Television at later dates.

Bradenton Herald is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
