Report: Bucs hire fired Vikings coach Frazier as DC

The Sports NetworkJanuary 3, 2014

(SportsNetwork.com) - Fired Monday as head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, Leslie Frazier apparently wasn't on the market for long.

Frazier told ESPN.com on Friday he will be the next defensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Bucs fired coach Greg Schiano on Monday after a stormy two-year tenure and amid a house-cleaning that also cost general manager Mark Dominik his job.

Frazier has a history as a defensive coordinator. He led the Vikings defense prior to his promotion to head coach and also served in that position for the Bengals from 2003-04. His units in Minnesota ranked in the top-10 in defense in three of his four seasons. He went 21-32-1 in three-plus seasons as head coach.

The Bucs (4-12) had the 17th-ranked defense in the league this season. They haven't made the playoffs since 2007.

ESPN.com previously reported the Bucs hired former University of California head coach Jeff Tedford as offensive coordinator.
