Winter storm canceling, delaying flights at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport

Winter weather elsewhere in the country is having an impact at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport on Friday.

The airport's website shows that several departing and arriving flights at SRQ have been either delayed or cancelled.

As of 11:30 a.m., Jet Blue had cancelled flights between SRQ and Boston and New York.

A US Airways flight scheduled to depart for Washington, D.C., at 12:10 p.m. was listed as delayed.

The impact of the weather was greater at Tampa International Airport.

On Thursday, there were at least 200 delays and about two dozen cancellations.

The storm crippled air traffic at major airports from Chicago to Boston, causing a ripple effect for passengers for passengers everywhere, including TIA.

More than two dozen outgoing and incoming flights Friday morning were delayed. Some were canceled.
